Cheap Infrared Filtering

This guy sounds a little nutty, but he gives a pretty good explanation of how IR lenses work. And he suggests a way of making cheap IR filters, using stage lighting filters. The filters he's talking about are available in New York at any stage lighting supply or rental house, like Baribizon, Rafik, etc. By placing an IR filter like this over the lens of a camera, you can track IR sources (like IR LEDs) without interference from everyday sources. Most LCD projectors put out very little to no IR-visible light, so this is a good way to filter a projection image out from a screen too.
